Domestic Violence Awareness Training

As of January 1, 2026, Maryland House Bill-1547 requires that all new and renewing licensees for Barbers and Cosmetologist must complete a one-hour training program, either in-person or virtually, that covers the following:

1. Recognizing the signs of domestic violence.

2. Strategies to navigate conversations with clients who may be victims of domestic violence.

3. How to listen to and communicate with victims of domestic violence.

4. Connecting clients with resources and support groups for victims of domestic violence.
